From the Field to the Founding Table
Every chapter in both careers built a specific competency that PWRNXT now deploys. This is not a CV — it is the story of how two decades of deliberate experience converge on one platform.
Engineering & Commercial Foundations
Began career in process engineering at Lurgi India, developing precision in technical and operational problem-solving. Moved to Air Liquide for technology and economics evaluation of syngas and hydrogen systems — building the techno-commercial analytical rigour that underpins every PWRNXT feasibility study. Completed an ISB MBA (Finance, Operations & Strategy) in 2013–14. Followed by strategic planning for hydrogen and petrochemicals at Adani Enterprises.
Adani Green Energy — Founding Team & M&A
Joined Adani Green's founding team, contributing to the development of one of India's largest solar PV and wind portfolios. Conducted technical and commercial due diligence for utility-scale solar and wind investments. Led EMEA market entry strategy for 1,000 MW of utility-scale renewable capacity. Supported divestment of 2,148 MW to TotalEnergies, acquired 205 MW solar portfolio, and negotiated a 250 MW solar PV term sheet in North Africa.
MD India — Two International RE Developers
Served as Managing Director — India for two internationally headquartered renewable energy developers. Full P&L accountability, investor reporting, cross-border JV structuring and board-level decision-making. At wpd AG (2021–22), established India business targeting a 3 GW pipeline. At Skyborn Renewables (2022–25), led India business while supporting investment due diligence for APAC management.
Co-Founder — Power Next Solutions (PWRNXT)
Applying three career chapters — engineering precision, M&A discipline and corporate governance experience — to build India's leading BESS-as-a-Service platform. Leads commercial structuring, investor relations, feasibility methodology and lease framework design. Master of Business Laws (NLS) ensures all contracts and structures are legally robust from day one.
Military Leadership & International Operations
Commissioned as a Captain in the Indian Army's Mechanised Infantry (2000–2005) — five years of operational leadership, strategic planning and high-stakes decision-making. Followed by international BD in Dubai (freight forwarding, project cargo, architectural services) and international markets, building cross-border commercial capability.
State EPC & Programme Head — Onshore Wind
Served as State EPC and Programme Management Head for Wind World India, overseeing end-to-end delivery of onshore wind projects at state level. Managed civil works, equipment supply chains, erection, grid interconnection and handover — under real field pressure and hard commissioning deadlines. The competency built here is directly embedded in PWRNXT's deployment model.
Deputy General Manager — ReNew Power
Moved to ReNew Power — India's leading independent renewable energy producer — as Deputy General Manager. Responsible for programme coordination, business support and international business development during ReNew's rapid scale-up across solar PV and onshore wind, managing multiple simultaneous projects and building commercial partnerships in competitive markets.
Co-Founder — Power Next Solutions (PWRNXT)
Prior to PWRNXT, Sahil spent 6+ years at Shell across senior energy BD roles — including BD Head (Offshore Wind India) and BD Manager (Power Trading) — adding global corporate governance standards to his track record. At PWRNXT, he leads business development and strategic liaising: client acquisition, channel partnerships and stakeholder engagement across India's C&I sector.
Six Competencies. One Platform.
PWRNXT's edge is not a single specialism. It is the intersection of financial structuring, solar and wind engineering, EPC delivery, regulatory expertise and operational discipline that makes the model credible — and the SLAs bankable.
M&A, Project Finance & Deal Structuring
Gaurav's experience at Adani Green Energy — supporting the divestment of 2,148 MW to TotalEnergies, acquiring a 205 MW solar portfolio and negotiating a 250 MW term sheet in North Africa — gives PWRNXT's commercial structures a rigour and deal-level credibility that investors recognise.
Solar PV & Onshore Wind — Development & EPC
Both founders have worked directly with utility-scale solar PV and onshore wind — Gaurav in project development, DD and M&A at Adani Green; Sahil in EPC delivery at Wind World India and programme management at ReNew Power. BESS systems are sized and integrated with this real-world project background.
Corporate Governance & International Leadership
Gaurav served as Managing Director India at two internationally headquartered renewable energy developers (wpd AG and Skyborn Renewables) — with full P&L accountability, investor reporting and investment due diligence responsibilities for APAC management. This governance standard is embedded in every PWRNXT contract, SLA and investor communication.
EPC Delivery & Programme Management
Sahil's years as State EPC and Programme Head at Wind World India and DGM at ReNew Power mean PWRNXT's turnkey BESS deployments are managed by someone who has delivered energy projects end-to-end — with contractor management, supply chain coordination and commissioning under real field conditions.
Legal, Regulatory & OpEx Structuring
Gaurav's Master of Business Laws from National Law School of India University — combined with deep familiarity with MNRE regulations, PPA frameworks and Indian accounting standards — underpins every PWRNXT lease structure. Off-balance-sheet, 100% tax-deductible as OpEx, legally sound from execution day.
Operational Rigour & Leadership Under Pressure
Sahil's five years as a Captain in India's Mechanised Infantry instilled the accountability and decision-making discipline that defines PWRNXT's 98.5% uptime SLA. At PWRNXT, this translates into structured deployment management, clear escalation protocols and a BD approach built on trust over transactional relationships.
How We Show Up
The commitments that govern every client interaction — from the first feasibility call to year five of your lease.
Engineering First
Every recommendation is grounded in your actual data — load profiles, DG logs, grid tariff. No guesswork, no oversized systems, no undersized promises.
Skin in the Game
We own the BESS asset. We own the operational risk. If the system underperforms, we fix it — at our cost, within the SLA window. Our commercial success is a direct function of your reliability.
Radical Transparency
24/7 monitoring data belongs to you. Every SLA metric is reported, every anomaly flagged before it becomes a failure. No surprises, no hidden costs, no fine print in year three.
Long-Term Thinking
A BESS deployment is a decade-long commitment. We design for longevity — LFP chemistry with 6,000+ cycle life, modular architecture for upgrades, and SLAs that hold from year one to year ten.
